Biochemical Geneticist

The Greenwood Genetic Center has an immediate opening for a fulltime Board Certified/Board Eligible Biochemical Geneticist at the Assistant or Associate Level. The position is located in the Columbia office of the Greenwood Genetic Center and will have an emphasis on the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with inborn errors of metabolism requiring dietary treatment as well as enzyme replacement therapy. There will be the opportunity to participate in teaching and clinical research. The successful candidate is also expected to participate in the on call schedule for patients with biochemical disorders.

The responsibilities of the position include patient care (inpatient consultations, outpatient metabolic genetics clinic and newborn screen consultation); collaboration with GGC biochemical genetics laboratory; and teaching of genetic counselors, USC medical students and residents. The qualified candidate will be offered a faculty position with USC at rank commensurate with their qualifications. MD or MD/PhD candidates who are ABMG board-certified/eligible in Clinical or Medical Biochemical Genetics and qualified for licensure in State of South Carolina are encouraged to apply. Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics is also preferred.
